I fell in love with medieval England after picking up \u003Cspan>\u003C\u002Fspan>’s \u003Cem>The Plantagenets\u003C\u002Fem>, and I’ve been chasing Anglo-Saxon and early medieval kings, church politics, and early English Christianity ever since.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>I earned my bachelor’s degree in history from Arizona State University with a minor in anthropology. Most of my formal work was focused on Colonial, Revolutionary, and Civil War American history, with some study of Mesoamerican anthropology. I am currently working on a second BA in Bible & Theology.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Since finishing my history degree, I’ve spent most of my time reading, researching, and writing about England from the earliest Anglo-Saxon kingdoms through the Battle of Bosworth in 1485. I also write about how Christianity took hold in England during that period and how church leaders, kings, and ordinary people shaped power, belief, and daily life.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>I first found that I really loved the spread of Christianity in Anglo-Saxon England after listening to The \u003Cem>British History Podcas\u003C\u002Fem>t episodes on Wilfred and the Synod of Whitby. My favorite books include \u003Cspan>\u003C\u002Fspan>’s \u003Cem>The Plantagenets\u003C\u002Fem> and \u003Cem>Summer of Blood\u003C\u002Fem>, \u003Cem>The White Ship\u003C\u002Fem> by \u003Cspan>\u003C\u002Fspan>, and \u003Cem>The Norman Conquest\u003C\u002Fem> by Marc Morris. I usually post about things that happened on that day or week in history; sometimes I write about church feasts or saints celebrated during the period.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>What I enjoy most about MLH is reading the primary sources.
